Ishle’s "Queens Crown Sonnet" published as part of the exhibition, "Queens International", at the Queens Museum of Art.

In April 2004, Ishle Yi Park was selected to be the Poet Laureate of Queens, New York. She is the first Korean American woman to hold this honor.

As Poet Laureate, Ishle has given poetry readings, hosted events, and has attended meetings with Queens Arts organizations to discuss projects and the state of arts & literature in Queens.
